Welcome to My Little Corner of the World

Over the last several months this has become a space where I have been able to sit down on this journey, pour a cup of coffee and sort through the pieces of my heart. As well, it has caused me to remember the value and place of laughter in my life as much as my need to communicate. And, it has become a place of community and rest during a time when my soul has been most desperate for it. Welcome to my little corner of the world. Read on and offer your own thoughts if you like.

Blogger Virgin

Okay. So I admit it. I'm a blogger virgin. For years, I've listened to people around me (many of them the college students I labor amongst and my best friend, Jill Pole) speak of the blog. I've voyeuristically enjoyed many of their own musings. Some of them have allowed me to think more deeply upon the desires and questions of my own heart. As a former journalism major, I must confess that I've been intrigued. The desire to write is a common theme in my life -- it seems that my heart is always pondering something. I have a number of leather journals filled with thoughts about life, frustrations, and my Story as the Lord lovingly shapes it. But the discipline to actually sit down and put pen to paper (or fingertips to keyboard) has completely alluded me.

So, recently, I became a laptop owner. Something about the sudden mobility of technology has dredged up a desire to be more internet vulnerable. Sounds silly, I know, but the desire to write has surfaced and I'm determined to step into the risk of writing...something. I don't really know what the theme of this blog will be...maybe that will be shaped over time. But, for now, I'm here and ready for a writing adventure...

Welcome to the journey. As my time for blogging is compressing and vanishing before my eyes, I welcome another voice into the mix. Thanks for posting over at Life's Rich Tapestry. I will swing into your little corner whenever I can.
Blessings.
